Many people say that Hip-Hop is dead. Nas came out with a song called Hip-Hop is dead, this is because many people think that rappers are only rapping about things that aren't important to life. Also because Hip-Hop has changed throughout the years, rapper's lyrics aren't like they used to be in the 90's. But I say that Hip-Hop isn't dead, Hip-Hop's just opening up to many variety of flavors. Ice-T, a legend in the rap game, says that Soulja Boy is an example of a person who killed Hip-Hop. The exact quote is "F*** Soulja Boy. Eat a d***. This n**** single handedly killed Hip-Hop." Ice-T said that because he believes that Hip-Hop isn't about dances, which is what Soulja Boy raps about. Ice-T believes that Hip-Hop is about growing up in the hood and rapping about life and how hard life is to get money and supporting their family. Soulja Boy had a life like that til' he became famous, Soulja Boy was poor and he grew up in Atlanta. He needs to support his family and he believes that whatever it takes to support his family he is gonna do that and continue rapping about Dances as long as he is making money and putting bread on the table. But all rappers rap about different things, Lil' Wayne raps about girls, money, and cars like in the song "Transformer" but sometimes he raps about life and losing people important to your life, like the song "Something You Forgot", "My Life", and "Hustler's Musik". All rappers rap about different things, so if Lil' Wayne is your favorite rapper what he raps about is what you like and makes sense to you. So if you believe that Hip-Hop has changed and you can't find your type of music, then my blog is the right place to find the rappers that rap about what makes sense to you.
